What I’m doing now
This page shares what I’m focused on right now — the /now idea comes from nownownow.com by Derek Sivers.

What I’m building
I am working on a car dealer management system, currently working towards an MVP using Rails, and using this project to get up to speed on new additions to the framework like Hotwire and Stimulus, as well as experimenting with AI to assist me.
What I'm Learning
I an still following along with with Brian Casel's Builder Methods and have joined his pro community, which gives me access to discussions with other developers leveraging AI to build real things as well as his interview videos where he gives you an over the shoulder view of their day to day processes.
I have been trying to get more used to using the agents to help me learn, asking them to explain more what changes they are making and why, this has become more useful with the latest crop of agents, who now seem much more capable of doing things themselves as long as you give them pretty specific prompts.
And after using vi on and off for over a decade (mainly when I end up ssh'ed into a server) and know some of the basic commands, I am commiting to using Neovim as my main editor, and try and burn those vim motions into my brain.
I have been reading some of the books by MJ DeMarco, I think I started in the
wrong order, reading Unscripted first and then moving on to The Millionaire Fastlane
which I am about half way through.
I started reading them as a recommendation to help towards building my business
but MJ's books are more than that, they reframe the way you think about life. These
are both reccomended for anyone who wants to get ahead in life, and I will write
something up on them once I have finished Fastlane.
What I'm Watching
Most of my watching this month has been Youtube content around building a software business, including a lot of the podcasts from Mostly Technical and The Panel Podcast.
